Nice place for a walk with a choice of paved sidewalks or in the woods. Watch out for the bicycles though....path or woods.

Great for a nice walk around the lake. It's very peaceful and serene. Every now and then you can catch the VRE/Amtrak train go by. Also, you might be able to spot a couple bald eagles in the area.

Playground, mini golf, carousel, boating, picnic areas, concessions, wooded trails -- it's all here at Lake Accotink. I typically come with my family for the playground and carousel and there are always groups holding parties and get-togethers in the reserved picnic areas. My reasons for not giving it 5 stars are that the restrooms are frequently dirty, the fees for reserving the picnic areas are pretty high, selection at the snack bar is extremely limited, and the attractions like golf, carousel, and boating close too early in the year. But these gripes are all results of policies and funding levels from the Fairfax County Parks Dept, so for a county run park, I guess it's what you can expect. Overall, I always enjoy coming to the park.

They park looks like it use to be really nice, but it is definitely run down and under funded. My wife and I were walking the other evening and learned we need to be out of here by dusk, it started to get a little schetchy.

I've been running loops around the wooded and shaded 4 mile mixed surface Lake Accotink trail for 12 years. Love it! The park is always clean, always feels safe. I've seen bald eagles, snapping turtles, deer and fox, I've kayaked, I've fished, my daughter has ridden the carousel with horses and played in the playground. Enjoy this nice resource.
